Our Story.

The founders of Eben-Haezer Egg Ranch, Eb and Annie Hogervorst, were born in the Netherlands and immigrated to the United States. Annie's sister sponsored the couple and they journeyed over on May 20, 1955.

Eggciting Times.

Eb and Annie bought the ranch on October 1, 1957. They lived with the former owner John Tickonv and his wife for about three months. Tickonv helped Eb and Annie get started in the chicken business.

The ranch had about 4,000 laying hens and the eggs were picked in wire baskets and placed on a flatbed truck to be transported to the egg room where they were washed, cleaned, and processed on a small egg machine.

What does “Eben-Haezer” mean?

Eben-Haezer is biblical term and translates to “foundation stone” or “stone of help”. Eb Hogervorst named the family farm “Eben-Haezer” as a reminder that God is our “Rock” and is always helping us.

…“Thus far the Lord has helped us.” 1 Samuel 7:12

The Egg Ranch Today

Today the Hogervorst’s daughter Bernice and her husband Luis Nevarez own and oversee the Ranch and all of its operations.

They met on the ranch back in the 1970s and shortly after tying the knot they had five children of their own!

Not only did they raise their kids on the farm but their children now help them manage and maintain the business.
